JEREMIAH M.(JERRY) CAPPS (MARSHAL PINKNEY) was born in January 1886 in Madison County, Arkansas. Jerry, the sixth child and fourth son of Marshal and Mary [Davenport] Capps, was likely born in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.

Comstock Ancestry. Libby’s family was of Scottish descent, her paternal grandmother Elizabeth having been born in Scotland, as were Elizabeth’s parents. Libby’s paternal grandfather was born in New York.

Jerry and Libby were featured in the October 1970 issue of National Geographic Magazine in an article on the Ozark Mountains. It states that they lived in Capps Valley.

PASSAGES

After 30 years of marriage, Libby passed away Wednesday, October 26, 1949, in Lane County, Oregon. Jerry followed on Monday, August 23, 1965, also in Lane County.
