JULIOUS M. CAPPS - Generation No. 2
JULIOUS M. CAPPS (MARSHAL PINKNEY) was born September 29, 1878 in Missouri. He was named for his maternal great-grandfather, Julius Terry Davenport. Julious was the fourth child and third son of Marshal and Mary [Davenport] Capps.
Though his family was reported to have been living in Kansas at the time of his birth, census records reflect that he was born in Missouri. The family returned to Kansas sometime between 1878 and 1882, settling in Chatauqua Springs, Chatauqua County. Between March and December 1885, the family left Kansas one last time, bound for what would be their final destination – the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.
MARRIAGES and CHILDREN
Julious married DELLA TARRY [b: 1881] on Sunday, October 7, 1900, in Carroll County, Arkansas.
There were no children born to JULIOUS CAPPS and DELLA TARRY.
OCCUPATIONS
Julious worked as a lumberjack.
PASSAGES
Julious died on March 7, 1901 as the result of a tree felling accident less than 1 year after his marriage. He was 22 years old. Julious is interred at Rambo Cemetery, Carroll County, Arkansas.
New Beginnings. Other than a marriage record, this researcher has been unable to find any records pertaining to Della Tarry or Della Capps, though it’s almost certain Della would’ve remarried after Julious’ untimely death as she would’ve only been about 20 years old at the time she was widowed.
